Michael Ahn
Senior Designer
Michael Ahn grew up in Cupertino, California, in the South Bay Area foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountain, close to beaches, mountains, farms, and valleys. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Art from Swarthmore College, and worked as a Research Assistant at Columbia University Medical Center and an Assistant Registrar at Ronald Feldman Gallery, while also developing his own painting practice. Living in New York City and going to Central and Prospect Parks led to his interest in landscape architecture, which he explored when he first joined MVVA in 2017 in an administrative capacity.

Michael received a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design. While at Harvard, he spent a summer working at Fishers Island Oyster Farm, an experience that shaped his interest in productive landscapes. In his spare time, he continues to paint and take photographs, as well as experimenting with sound and field recordings. Michael rejoined MVVA in 2020.
