Jessica Blake
Senior Project Manager
Jessica (Jess) grew up in Massachusetts, where she was inspired by the stony and coastal New England landscapes, with their moss, ferns, and passionate waterways. She received a BA in Theater from Bennington College, and worked on stage and films and in construction for many years. When called upon by friends, she has been known to return to the boards.

Jess worked at MVVA from 2005 to 2008 and was moved enough by the work of the firm to pursue and receive a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of New Mexico. While at UNM, she worked with sculptor Patrick Dougherty and helped in the establishment of the Art & Ecology program as a secondary focus for the MLA program. She was awed by the extraordinary mountains, apricot-peach light at dawn, and lightning storms of Albuquerque, but longed for the ocean. After receiving her MLA, she worked as set designer in Atlanta and as a freelance landscape designer and project manager on Cape Cod. She rejoined MVVA in 2020 as project administrator for the Port Lands Flood Protection project.
