Fletcher Phillips
Fletcher is a Registered Landscape Architect and Associate at MVVA. First joining MVVA in 2012, Fletcher has led the day-to-day project coordination and design development for a wide range of project types including public parks, institutional landscapes, and urban plazas. His expertise lies in the design of complex urban public landscapes with a focus on the translation of conceptual masterplans into elegant solutions for implementation.

Fletcher’s work in the firm includes leading design and planning teams for the University of Notre Dame Sculpture Park, a corporate campus in the Pacific Northwest, the a framework plan for a shoreline site in New York, the Colgate University campus expansion, and the M-Street Landing Plaza in Washington, DC. In addition to his project experience, Fletcher brings an interest in the social dynamics of landscape with a passion for our work’s capacity to bridge the needs of community, infrastructure, and ecology.

Fletcher grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and enjoys hiking, playing basketball, and drawing. He received a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design where he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. He also holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Pennsylvania State University, is a regular design critic, and previously taught the landscape architecture studio in Harvard’s Design Discovery program.
