H. Nyunny Kim
The allure of designing with living materials led Nyunny from an architectural and design technology background to creating landscapes and playgrounds for MVVA. She contributes to all aspects of the design process and has served as project manager for Maggie Daley Park in Chicago, the NYU 2031 Master Plan, and the School of Computer Science Complex at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Nyunny is also MVVA's playground specialist, leading the playground design and code review for projects including Maggie Daley Park, Union Square Park in NYC, Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 5 and 6, and Kiener Plaza in St. Louis. Other recent projects include play gardens for Lathrop Homes in Chicago, Novartis Childcare and Princeton Childcare in New Jersey, Hudson Park and Boulevard in NYC, and A Gathering Place for Tulsa, as well as a nature play garden for the Waller Creek project in Austin, TX. As part of her research for MVVA, Nyunny traveled throughout Europe and Asia where she studied differences in playground design.

Nyunny attended the Parsons School of Design, where she earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and a Master of Fine Arts in Design & Technology. She also studied Urban Sustainability at Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design in the Netherlands.

Nyunny joined MVVA in 2004.
