Sam Cohen
Designer
Sam’s design work focuses largely on materiality and the relationship among people, nature, and the urban environment. He is inspired by his travels abroad and by the diverse terrain of his native state of Virginia, where he grew up hiking in the mountains and skating in suburban streets.

Sam earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with Highest Honors from Virginia Tech in 2018. He served as Virginia Tech’s ASLA Student Chapter President and interned at SFCS Architects and Deckscapes of Virginia. He received an ASLA Merit Award and was selected as Virginia Tech’s 2018 Landscape Architecture Foundation Undergraduate Olmsted Scholar. Sam enjoys woodworking, Chinese ink and twig sketching, and is an avid saunterer. He played competitive rugby at Virginia Tech.

Sam joined MVVA in 2018.
