The allure of designing with living materials led Nyunny from an architectural and design technology background to creating landscapes and playgrounds for MVVA. She contributes to all aspects of the design process including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Nyunny served as project manager for Maggie Daley Park in Chicago, the NYU 2031 Master Plan, and the School of Computer Science Complex at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Nyunny is MVVA’s playground specialist, leading the design teams for MVVA’s playground projects including A Gathering Place for Tulsa, a 90-acre riverfront park in Tulsa, OK, that will include one of the largest and most complex playgrounds MVVA has designed, Union Square Park in NYC, Pier 5 and Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Maggie Daley Park playground in Chicago, Hudson Park and Boulevard playgrounds in NYC, and the four playgrounds planned for the NYU 2031 Master Plan. As part of her research for MVVA, Nyunny traveled throughout Europe and Asia where she studied the differences in playground design.
She attended the Parsons School of Design, where she earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and a Master of Fine Arts in Design Technology. Nyunny also studied Urban Sustainability at Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design in the Netherlands.
Nyunny joined MVVA in 2004.
