Blair is from Lake Charles, Louisiana, a small town on the Gulf of Mexico. The landscapes of the region’s coastline and swamps, as well as his family’s ranch in west Texas, have inspired his design approach. He is particularly interested in how varied landscapes produce different emotional states. As an undergraduate, Blair worked in commercial construction, where he developed an ability to communicate and understand design constraints. He also worked for Goodloe Architects producing drawings and graphics. Prior to joining MVVA as a full-time employee in 2015, he worked for the firm as an intern from January to August 2014. As a designer, Blair contributes his ability to formulate and translate conceptual narratives into constructed form, while maintaining an artistic approach.
Blair earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University and spent a semester studying abroad in Rome. In his spare time, Blair enjoys designing and building furniture.
