Nicholas is from Syracuse, New York, where he cultivated an interest in landscape design and construction. He found the interplay of the nature and structure of the region's forests particularly intriguing. As a part of Cornell University's Sustainable Design project, he traveled to Nicaragua to perform site research and lead a student research team in the study of a planned community. Nicholas worked as an intern at AECOM and at Bergmann Associates. As a member of the MVVA design team, he has contributed to the design development and construction documentation for the Novartis Child Care project and the Coney Island Seaside Park and Community Arts Center, The Gathering Place for Tulsa, the Menil Gateway project in Houston and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis.
Nicholas received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University. At Cornell, he was Assistant Captain of the Division I club ice hockey team, which won the Northeast ACHA section title in 2012. He joined MVVA in 2013.
