Jason is a Senior Associate who contributes to all phases of the MVVA design process. His comprehensive knowledge of plants has allowed him to take the lead role in all aspects of planting, plant selection and cultivation of rare species in many MVVA projects. Jason, in collaboration with Michael Van Valkenburgh and Matthew Urbanski, has led planting design for Teardrop Park in Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Don River Park in Toronto, and several residential gardens. He is currently working on the reinvigoration of the Dan Kiley landscape as part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, North Grant Park in Chicago and A Gathering Place for Tulsa, in Tulsa, OK. Jason’s affection for plants and landscape comes from a history of digging in the deep, black soil of the mid-west.
Jason received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Kansas City Art Institute, where he studied sculpture. He earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
Jason joined MVVA in 2003.
